Ford has started production of its 2014 F-150 pickup with the ability to run on compressed natural gas, our sister site, Total Landscape Care reports.

The company announced in July that it would offer the 2014 F-150 with a prep package allowing the truck to run on compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and gasoline.

Total Landscape Care reports that the 2014 Ford F-150 will run on a 3.7-liter V6 engine, which will be available with a factory-installed, gaseous fuel prep package with valves, valve seats and pistons and rings.

The CNG/LPG/gasoline engine package will allow the pickup to achieve more than 750 miles with a single tank of gas. The truck has an EPA-estimated rating of 23 mpg on-highway and 19 mpg combined.
