Sen. Jim DeMint resigns to head up conservative think tank
Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) resigns from the U.S. Senate to head up The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank Jim DeMint, a junior senator from South Carolina, has resigned to head up the conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation. DeMint has served as a senator since 2005 and was one of the Tea Party movement leaders. DeMint was also a ranking member of the Senate Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development.
