Work Truck Show
| March 25, 2009
The Work Truck Show, to be held March 4-6, 2009 in Chicago, features 500,000 square feet of new vocational trucks, equipment and related products, more than 40 industry-specific training courses, special sessions on green trucks and 2010 emission-compliant chassis, a Green Truck Ride-and-Drive and opportunities to consult with technical personnel and network with peers.
Compact compressor makes the most of limited space
Vanair’s RC 40 reciprocating abovedeck air compressor is designed for tire service and mechanic vehicles, and features a compact design. The unit provides 40 cfm of power and has an integral hydraulic cooler.
Compressor features digital controls
Save space with VMAC’s Predatair hydraulic above-deck air compressor, a lightweight, compact unit that allows more room on deck for tools and equipment needed on the jobsite. Digital control features unique to the compressor idle the system when not in use and wake the system immediately when air is required again. Rotary screws ensure the system delivers enough air to handle a 60-pound jackhammer.
Portable balloon light illuminates large area
Illuminate 3,400 square feet at 360 degrees with Airstar America’s Sirocco S glare-free balloon light. The unit is available in a 750-watt, 110-volt or a 90-watt, 12-volt system and has three 250-watt halogen lamps. An included inverter enables simple conversion to the 12-volt system, which uses three 30-watt low consumption lamps. The 9-foot unit with stand deploys in minutes.
Change truck bodies fast with versatile system
Switch bodies in less than 30 seconds with the Hook-All Hooklift by American Roll-Off. The quick-change body system is available in units ranging in capacity from 10,000 to 75,000 pounds, and can handle container lengths from 10 to 28 feet. Hooklift bodies can also be placed on the ground for easy loading and unloading.
Choose your truck to suit your application
Ford Commercial Trucks offers a range of models specifically designed for commercial applications. Super-Duty chassis cabs haul large payloads, Ford LCF offers maneuverability and the F-Series has a variety of drivetrain, wheelbase and cab choices. E-Series cargo vans feature the optional double-locking E-Guard Cargo Protection System.
Manufacturers’ association offers compliance program
The National Association of Trailer Manufacturers offers a compliance program to all NATM members that manufacture trailers. Using the association’s “Guidelines for Minimum Manufacturing Practices,” the voluntary program includes an on-site inspection and provides NATM certification for compliant trailers.
Generator compressor unit saves space
Conserve space with Next Generation Power’s generator compressor, which measures 42 by 26 by 30 inches and weighs 375 pounds. The diesel-powered unit produces 20 cfm at 150 psi and 5 kW of electrical power, while operating at 1,000 rpm. A vortex combustion system creates a greater energy output with lower fuel consumption and a cleaner burning exhaust.
Space-saving units packed with features
Goodall Power Centers deliver integrated air, AC power, welding and jumpstarting options in one unit. Designed to bolt onto or in most service vehicles, the Power Centers require minimal space. Several configurations are available to meet specific customer needs.
Lube skid has range of features
Valley Engineering’s Lubemate skid packs mount into a service body or flatbed, enabling complete service on-site. The units have one to four new oil tanks, with used oil recovery, pumps, reels and meters.
Transmission series reduces shock
Allison’s Rugged Duty transmission series features a heavy-duty torque converter for increased shifting performance, faster acceleration, greater operating flexibility and minimal rollback. A cushion effect reduces shock and strain on the entire driveline. The 3000 RDS has Shift Energy Management to help conserve fuel, provide better acceleration and help carry a load more efficiently.
Compressor handles variety of tools
Operate light air tools, large impact wrenches and mid-size pneumatic tools such as breakers and chippers with Doosan Infracore Portable Power’s Ingersoll Rand HP60CMH rotary-screw air compressor unit. The truck-mounted compressor delivers up to 60 cubic feet of free air per minute at a 150-psi rated operating pressure. The unit requires 18.1 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow at 2,295 psi hydraulic pressure to maintain full load.
