LeeBoy 705 Motor Grader Offers Joystick Control for Responsive and Productive Grading

LINCOLNTON, N.C. The 705 Motor Grader by VT LeeBoy, Inc., was unveiled at CONEXPO featuring joystick control of grader functions integral to the operator™s chair in a 17,000-pound unit with a 10-foot sliding and tilting moldboard. The 705 is powered by a 117-HP CAT Tier 3 diesel engine and makes grading smooth at high and slow speeds with its 6-speed forward and 3-speed reverse power shift hydrostatic transmission. Infinitely variable speeds up to 20 mph are achievable in forward. A load sensing variable displacement pump provides superior machine control and enhanced performance and efficiency. The 705 features wet disc brakes and a hydraulic release fail safe parking brake.

The 705™s climate-controlled cab is designed to enhance visibility with 10% more glass area and improve operator comfort and efficiency. Right and left hand joysticks integral to the adjustable suspension operator™s chair control all grader functions. The control console has touch pad color screen with basic instrumentation and menu-driven diagnostic capabilities. The cab is mounted on isolation pads to reduce noise and vibration. In addition, a solar roof panel provides power to a separate cooling fan in the cab. The fan automatically cycles on and off when equipment is not in use and sitting in the hot sun.

The LeeBoy 705 motor grader has a 10-foot sliding and tilting moldboard with18 inch right or left side shift and shoulder reach of 36 inches, allowing the operator to shift the blade in or out of hard to reach areas. The enclosed turntable is maintenance friendly and protects the wear parts from the elements. A rear mount 72 inch scarifier with slots for up to 9 ripping teeth makes quick work of compacted soils to be graded.

Maneuverability of the 705 motor grader is enhanced with 18 degree right or left articulation behind the cab. This gives the 705 an outside turning radius of 17.5 feet. Grading functions are assisted with front axle oscillation of 20 degrees, front wheel lean of 15 degrees and front wheel steering angle of 50 degrees. The engine compartment is easily accessible for all engine and transmission maintenance.
