The Historical Construction Equipment Association has a new building for its archives.
The building was officially dedicated at a ceremony Nov. 19 and brings together all of the association’s records under one roof for the first time. The climate-controlled storage area will house records from more than 2,000 manufacturers of equipment and accessories including sales literature, photographs, manuals, parts books, engineering drawings, audio-visual media and business records.
Volunteers and apprentices from the Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship helped with the building project by donating site work and grading services. The new building is located behind the HCEA’s National Construction Equipment Museum, which houses 20 fully restored antique construction machines.
