AGC, U.S. Department of Labor release new training guidelines

Future construction workers attending training centers, community colleges and high schools will now have more clear guidelines in their education thanks to a new “compentency model” that has been released by the United States Department of Labor and the Associated General Contractors of America. The guidelines will give educators a more precise curriculum with which to successfully train future construction workers for successful careers.

“The best way to prepare tomorrow’s construction workers is to improve today’s training programs,” says Steven Sandherr, chief executive officer of the AGC. “We want to make sure that new workers have the complex mix of skills and expertise needed to thrive in the modern construction industry.”
