Video: A Closer Look at Kato's HD308 US-7 Compact Excavator

Kato CES says its new HD308 US-7 compact excavator outpunches its size class, with an operating weight of just over 19,000 pounds and a bucket digging force of nearly 15,000 pounds.

Austin Howell, Kato CES sales representative, gave Equipment World an overview of the excavator at the recent ARA Show. Because it is easy to operate and maintain, Howell says, the HD308 is ideal for rental markets.

Watch the video above for a closer look at the Kato HD308 US-7 compact excavator.

The Japanese-made fixed-boom excavator has a 57-horsepower Yanmar YDN-4 TNV 98C engine and a 34-gallon fuel tank.

The HD308 US-7 has a maximum digging depth of 15 feet and a maximum digging height of 25 feet, 7 inches.

The cabin features the latest in both comfort and technology, including two displays – one for the rear and side view cameras and another for controls. Kato says the smooth joystick controls reduce fatigue when operating the machine for extended periods of time.

The hydraulic system has 35 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow. The first line max auxiliary flow is 30 gallons per minute, and the second is 16 gallons per minute.
