Worker killed by falling telehandler attachment in Minnesota

While working on a hotel jobsite in Minnesota, a worker was killed when an attachment from a telehandler suddenly fell on top of him.

According to a report from KTTC TV, the 30-year-old unidentified worker was beneath the telehandler’s extended arm around 12:30 p.m. Friday when, “a very large attachment” fell from the machine.

Authorities told the station the attachment hit the worker, who hailed from Utah, in the head.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating why the attachment fell.
