Work Zone Clearinghouse to host virtual conference

National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse will host a virtual conference for transportation industry professionals September 18-20.

This web-based, interactive learning and networking experience will exhibit the “Best Practices in Work Zone Safety” educational component of the “Local Transportation Asset Management Virtual Conference & Innovation Showcase” (LoTrans 2012).

Sessions will focus on several areas, such as speed management in work zones, avoiding runovers and backovers of workers, making workers and traffic control devices visible, working toward zero deaths, work zone access and egress strategies, using technology to make work zones safer, safety strategies for local and rural roads, best safety practices and communicating with the public.

In addition to multiple sessions, the conference will feature computer animation and framing; live, streaming and download video and digital content; an interactive chat room; and virtual exhibit booths in which industry firms will display products and services.

The conference costs nothing to attend.
