Washington State DOT seeks input on $2.4 billion 2016-2019 STIP

Screen Shot 2015-12-04 at 12.44.08 PMThe Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks public input on the draft 2016-2019 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

The public has until Dec. 19 to provide comments on the $2.4 billion program that covers more than 1,200 transportation improvement projects across the state.

Projects include pavement overlay work, roadway widening efforts, bridge repair and replacement work, signal and signage updates, safety improvements, pedestrian and bicycle paths and transit projects.

“The STIP was developed by WSDOT in coordination with statewide metropolitan and rural transportation planning organizations to ensure projects are consistent with local, regional and state plans,” the agency says. “Some county projects are not included in the draft STIP, as counties are required by state law to complete their transportation programs by the end of December, so those projects are amended into the final STIP in January.”

The full document is available for review here. WSDOT will accept written comments sent to Nancy Huntley, WSDOT, PO Box 47390, Olympia, WA 98504-7390. Comments can be faxed to 360-705-6822 or email to [email protected].
