Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge construction. Screenshot from Caltrans video.The Caltrans time-lapse video below shows the progress being made on Big Sur’s Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge, which has been closed to traffic for reconstruction of the bridge.
The video was taken between Aug. 21 and Aug. 28, 2017 as crews launched the steel support beams that will support the new Highway 1 bridge into place. Caltrans hopes to have work completed and the bridge open to traffic by late September or early October.
