Transportation for Massachusetts names Chris Dempsey as new director

Updated Jan 23, 2017

Chris Dempsey, a Brookline resident who uses Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority public transportation everyday, has been named the new director of Transportation for Massachusetts, a transportation advocacy coalition, the Boston Globe reports.

Dempsey said he is eager to lobby the state to improve its transportation system. “To me, transportation is kind of a fundamental challenge for the Commonwealth,” he told the news agency. “It touches all parts of our economy and everyone’s lives in a lot of different ways.”

Dempsey graduated from Harvard Business School and has worked at Bain & Co., a Boston consulting firm, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
