When we happened upon this beautiful vintage pickup at the SEMA show last week, it was the look of the thing that drew us in. The ’56 Ford F-100 is a beautiful truck even without a nice coat of paint, but this one, magnificently restored with its striking Porsche “Platinsilber” coating and wood plank truck bed (with storage under each plank) was especially magnetic.

It wasn’t until we started snapping a few photos that we noticed the Corvette LS3 engine inside. This 6.2-liter small block V8 debuted as the base engine in the 2008 Corvette and produces 430 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and north of 400 ft.-lbs. of torque at 4,500 rpm.
But that’s not all this old pickup has. Builder Bob Falleur has also equipped it with a Corvette Dana 44 rear differential and C-4 Corvette front and rear suspension.
If I could have driven home with any truck from SEMA, it would have been this one.
