Are you feeling creative? If so, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT)  has a contest you may want to consider entering. TDOT is currently holding a contest to allow drivers to choose creative messages for the state’s highway signs., according to WATE 6.

The contest, which will run through January 16th, is currently taking entries in five categories: seatbelt usage, impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding and aggressive driving.

Before you get too carried away, TDOT wants to remind all contest participants that messages containing profanity or lewd comments will be disqualified.

As reported by WATE 6, TDOT has a total of 163 Dynamic Message Signs throughout the state. The main purpose of these signs are to alert motorists of incidents, lane blockages, hazardous road conditions or Amber Alerts. Safety messages and roadway fatality numbers are displayed during other times.
