Unistress will receive $70 million to produce 6,000 panels for the project.
Each panel will be 40 feet long and 12 feet wide and must be designed to last 100 years, according to the report. To meet those standards the company will use reinforced, galvanized steel and high-strength, durable concrete.
Unistress President Perri Petricca told Lohud the company is hiring 100 extra workers so it can create 18 panels per day. The company must finish panel production in 18 months.
The company is expected to begin work in July or August, and once the panels are completed, it will likely take up to eight months to deliver them all to the Port of Coeymans on the Hudson River, just south of Albany. From there, construction crews will transport them to the job site via barge.
