Release of Nationwide Construction Employment and Business Forecast for 2010 at 1 p.m. EST Jan. 20

 

On Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. EST, the Associated General Contractors of America will release its construction employment and business forecast for 2010 during a media conference call at (888) 299-4099 (verbal pass code VT64810). The forecast will include the estimated percentage of construction companies planning to hire or lay people off during the year, as well as growth projections for all construction, including stimulus-funded construction projects this year. The forecast will also include an updated assessment of the impacts of the stimulus on the construction industry. State-by-state forecasts are available for most states.

During the call, association chief executive officer Stephen Sandherr and chief economist Kenneth Simonson will release the forecast and explain its significance for broader economic and employment growth for this year. Representatives of the construction community will be on the call to discuss their companies’ hiring and business prospects for the year as well.
