crime sceneSeveral police departments in southwestern Pennsylvania worked together in bringing down a crime ring that had been stealing materials and appliances from construction jobsites in the area for more than a year.

Police arrested Charles Fey, 35; Dwanye Vargo, 35; Dennis Vargo, 37, and Darius Sheplar, 37, according to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

With the bust, police recovered more than $100,000 worth of stolen items including doors, windows and appliances.

Police estimate that the items were amassed after more than 40 late-night burglaries where the suspects would sneak into unfinished homes in rural areas. The suspects were hiding the stolen items in their homes.

The main targets in the burglaries were developers S&A Homes and Ryan Homes.

Police were able to bust the ring after a construction worker noticed two of the men burglarizing a home in Oakmont.

The men have not yet been charged and police are trying to determine if more people were involved in the ring.
