Paul intros Senate bill to redirect 1% of federal spending to infrastructure

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ken.) has introduced a bill to Congress called the Penny Plan to Enhance Infrastructure Act that would redirect 1 percent of the federal government’s non-infrastructure spending, estimated to be $12.3 billion in 2020, to infrastructure projects across the United States, the Courier Journal reports.

The 1 percent would go toward improving highways, bridges, airports, railroads, waterways, ports, and more.
