Photo Credit: Jimmy Emerson/FlickrThe Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking input from the public on the 2016 amendment to its Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP). The amendment includes changes to projects in fiscal years 2016 through 2018.
In addition to ODOT, the STIP includes projects planned by public transit providers, tribal governments, the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments in the Oklahoma City metro, the Lawton Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Frontier Metropolitan Planning Organization in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area (including LeFlore and Sequoyah counties).
Major upcoming projects include:
- I-44/I-235/Broadway Extension and I-35/I-240 Crossroads interchanges in Oklahoma City
- I-44 expansion at 145th East Ave. and bridge rehabilitation on the Inner Dispersal Loop in Tulsa
- Pavement rehabilitation on US-69 south of Muskogee
- Widening of the US-270/US-183 corridor in Woodward County
The public comment deadline is March 14 and feedback can be submitted online at www.odot.org/STIP. A list of all the projects is available there as well.
