Nickell Rental has opened a fourth location – this one in LaGrange, Georgia, to serve western Georgia and eastern Alabama with general tool and equipment needs.
Though the store serves customers of all sizes, “we do try to serve the niche market of the smaller to mid-size contractors, homeowners and do-it-yourselfers,” says John Nuzio, branch manager of the La Grange store.
“We carry pretty much the same equipment as Herc Rentals and United Rentals, but we try to go the extra mile for the small to mid-sized customers and really provide the best customer service experience possible.”
The company says it now has one of the largest independent equipment rental fleets in the southeast.
Tom Nickell opened the first Nickell Equipment Rental store in Newnan, Georgia, south of metro Atlanta, in 1998. Two years later, he expanded into the southeast Atlanta market with the acquisition in Griffin of M&B Rental/Taylor Rental Center, now Nickell Rental. Expansion continued with new branches in Hiram in west Cobb County three years ago and now LaGrange.
“We’ve been thinking about coming down here for a long time actually and finally found the right spot in the right location,” Nuzio says. “We had a soft opening in April and have been growing since then. We had an official opening Nov. 2.”
The new 15,000 square-feet facility features a 2,500-square-foot showroom, which has an industrial-type look with black corrugated roofing material on the ceiling, along with gray corrugated steel and stained pallet wood on the walls.
The store is at the intersection of US Highways 29 and 209 in a fast-developing business area of LaGrange, the county seat of Troup County. The city is about 60 miles southwest of Atlanta on I-85 between Atlanta and Montgomery, Alabama.
