Messe München has established the bauma Charity Alliance, an effort to create a network of construction machinery industry companies aimed at creating and promoting “social projects” for education, environment, health, nutrition and social integration in needy areas of the world.

bauma-charity-alliance“Corporate societal and social commitment is no contradiction. On the contrary: long-term success requires both factors to go hand-in-hand,” Messe München Chairman and CEO Klaus Dittrich says. “Many bauma exhibitors have long since taken this on board and are acting accordingly.”

The program will launch during this year’s bauma event April 11-17 in Munich. It will coincide with the Pilosio Building Peace Award, an event that recognizes “those who defend human rights and help to improve living conditions.” This year marks this sixth edition of the award and will feature Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, as the featured speaker during a presentation April 14 at the International Conference Center in Munich.
