Mark Lowe to serve as Iowa DOT interim director

Iowa Gov. Terry Brandstad has named Mark Lowe, 50, as the interim director of the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) following the resignation of Paul Trombino in early November.

No timeline has been set for naming a full-time director and Iowa DOT is now accepting applications.

Lowe has previously served as general counsel to the department and most recently was the Motor Vehicle Division director. Prior to work at Iowa DOT, he was with Hopkins & Huebner, P.C., in Des Moines, was an associate general counsel for Norwest Financial in Des Moines.

He has served on the board of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators from 2010 to 2016, was its chair in 2014 to 2015.
