A Claas Scorpion telehandler, manufactured by Kramer. Claas has announced Liebherr will begin making the machine in 2018.Under a new agreement between the two companies, Liebherr will begin manufacturing the Scorpion agricultural telehandlers for fellow European manufacturer Claas in 2018.
A Liebherr 432-7 telehandler. The company will manufacture a modified telehandler design to be sold under the Claas Scorpion brand.Liebherr will take over manufacturing of the Scorpion from Kramer-Werke, a subsidiary of Wacker Neuson. Kramer and Claas have announced their partnership will conclude at the end of 2017.
Kramer has manufactured the Scorpion, while distributing the machine under the Kramer and Wacker Neuson names as well, since 2005.
Liebherr says the telehandlers it supplies to Claas for the Scorpion brand will be a modified design.
“By (2018), the range of Liebherr telescopic handlers will have grown and will continue to be marketed by the Liebherr sales organisation,” Liebherr said in a statement. “The cooperation with Claas will enable Liebherr to generate additional future sales in the core target segment of construction engineering and industry with sales potential in the field of agriculture.”
