Kobelco has introduced the SK300LC-10, a new excavator the company says boasts improved efficiency, traction, design and construction along with a better cab.
The machine is powered by a 252-horsepower Hino engine that meets Tier 4 Final standards through a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF). The new engine reduces fuel consumption over previous models, Kobelco says, while a hydraulic regeneration system minimizes energy loss to deliver 37,300 lbs.-ft. of bucket digging force.
A new travel motor on this machine increases traction force by 10 percent and not only delivers a drawbar pulling force more powerful than competitive models, Kobelco says, but also without impacting travel speed.
The machine also features independent travel, allowing it to move, lift and swing simultaneously with no loss in power. Another feature, automatic swing priority, allows for full swing power during combined operations without switching modes.
Kobelco has improved the construction of the SK300LC with a new attachment structure, a redesigned boss shape and boom foot for added stability, higher boom foot cross-section, thicker arm-foot base plate and stronger foot bases.
Inside the new larger cab, operators will find wide access doors, increased air conditioner capacity and more ventilation outlets. The cab also boasts an adjustable suspension seat, AM/FM radio with USB, Bluetooth and auxiliary capabilities and large cup holder.
In addition to simplified service points, Kobelco offers access to remote diagnostic and preventative maintenance data.
