Ice Ram Cometh: Tracked, tactical Ram from ‘Fast 8’ turns heads at SEMA

Updated Nov 11, 2016

Earlier this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared a photo on his Instagram page of a truck that appeared to be half-Ram, half shark. The truck was tracked, topped with a serious camper and a coated in a khaki shade and armor that give it the look of an arctic military truck.

This is the Ice Ram, one of the vehicle stars of the upcoming “Fast 8,” the latest sequel to The Fast and the Furious franchise.

Presumably the giant fin on the back is some type of ripper for ice and snow. And while the folks from Universal didn’t bring the fin along, the Ice Ram made its first public appearance last week on the show floor at SEMA.

No build information was given for this snow-treking truck, but the most important modifications are readily apparent. It’s a heavy duty Ram with tracks in stead of tires. A peak inside the cab revealed a fairly empty interior, which was unsurprising since this is a movie vehicle and is only supposed to look cool from the outside.

The Ice Ram will be driven by Johnson’s character Hobbs when Fast 8 is released next year.
