Godwin Pumps opens Carson, California location

Godwin Pumps announced the opening of its Carson, Calif., locationCelebrating the the 40th Anniversary of Godwin Pumps’ automatic self-priming Dri-Prime pump line, the company has announced the official opening of its branch location in Carson, Calif.

The Godwin Carson branch is in close proximity to major refineries, including Conoco Wilmington, Conoco Carson, Exxon Mobile Torrance, BP Arco Carson, Tesoro Wilmington, Valero Wilmington, BP Calciner Wilmington and Chevron El Segundo.

“We chose the Carson location to provide more immediate rental, sales and service support to our refinery business in the Long Beach area, and to support our ongoing business in the western portion of the Los Angeles basin with municipal, industrial and construction clients,” said Godwin Western Regional Manager Ron Askin, in a press release. “This location complements our existing Mira Loma facility, in the eastern portion of the Los Angeles basin,” The new facility offers 2,400 square feet of office space; 12,000 square feet of building space and another 75,000 squrae feet of yard space to support the current demand and long-term growth expected in the Long Beach area.”

Godwin’s support of the refinery process includes pumps for use in tank stripping/final emptying, sludge and product transfer, API separator cleaning, temporary fire water and plant feed water service, tank cleaning, cooling tower pump replacement, tank farm sumps, product transfer on long pipelines and pipeline pigging, and temporary bypass of API separators or process and/or storm sewers. In addition, Godwin supplies its turnkey services and supporting equipment including its portable diesel Godwin Lights and Godwin Power generators; hose, pipe and fittings, and vehicle crossings.

“When we opened this facility as a pop depot in late 2008, we wanted to introduce our trademark equipment and product support to the Carson area,” said Godwin President John Michael Paz in a written statement. “Our swift transition from a pop depot to a branch location – particularly with the state of the global economy – is a true testament to the reliability of our people and our equipment.”
