Work on the Ortega River Bridge has already begun, and work will begin soon on Dames Point Bridge and Hart Bridge.
Preliminary work on the Ortega River Bridge on Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. 17) began in early June and is scheduled to be finished in early 2018, FDOT told the news agency. The work involves repairs to the bridge superstructure and replacement of an adjacent fishing pier.
The Dames Point Bridge rehabilitation project on Interstate 295 East includes work on the fender system, joints and shear lock mechanisms, as well as some minor resurfacing, according to the report. Construction should begin in August 2016 and finish in the summer of 2017.
Rehabilitation of the Isaiah David Hart Bridge over the St. Johns River will get underway in late July and should be completed in the fall of 2017. FDOT told the news agency that the work will involve wire rope replacement, coating of structural steel, drainage work and steel plate rehabilitation.
