Fisker is the latest auto company to throw its hat into the growing ring of all-electric pickups.

While Fisker founder and CEO Henrik Fisker claimed in a recent Tweet that his forthcoming truck will be “the lightest, most efficient EV pick up in the world,” like other truck manufacturers, important insights into max towing and hauling capabilities remain unknown.

It’s one thing for an all-electric truck to do an amazing burn-out and beat nearly every car on the road in a 1/4-mile drag and quite another to tow a 5,000-lb. car across state lines.

Nonetheless, electric trucks hold promise in drastically reducing production and maintenance costs. More promising battery technology, namely solid-state, continues to make headlines for drastically improved performance over conventional lithium-ion, which may unlock tremendous potential once these batteries leave the lab and enter production.
