Nearly two months after introducing its intelligent Machine Control version of this model, Komatsu has released the D39EX/PX-24 dozers.

The dozers are powered by a 3.26-liter Komatsu SAA4D95E-7 engine producing 105 horsepower and meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards through Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).

New engine features include a water cooled, variable flow turbocharger, which improves engine response, and auto-idle shutdown. The engine provides 98 percent passive regeneration which does not interfere with operation.

“I’d say to anyone looking for a nimble, powerful machine that’s easy to transport and a breeze to operate, this is the dozer for you,” says Jonathan Tolomeo, Komatsu product manager. “Residential and commercial development, highways, golf courses—the D39EX/PX-24 gets it done on any of these light-to-medium dozing and fine grading applications and more,” Tolomeo said.

Also new on this machine is the inclusion of a standard automatic reverse grading mode and an improved final drive and cover design. Komatsu says this Triple Labyrinth design increases protection from mud and debris.

The new D39s also give operators a choice between a quick-shift, three-speed mode and a variable, 20-speed customizable transmission mode.

The Komtrax telematics service is provided on these machines and provide real-time diagnostics and operation data on the 7-inch monitor inside the cab. A rear-view camera system is included standard.
