Replacing the TB108, Takeuchi-US has introduced the TB210R compact excavator with minimal tail swing, and a backfill blade that can go from 40.2 inches wide down to 29.5 inches wide, allowing the machine to maneuver in tight access areas.

In addition, the machine’s ROPS/TOPS canopy is now foldable, reducing the machine’s overall height and allowing it further access in confined spaces.

The compact excavator has pilot-operated joystick controls with an ISO/SAE control pattern change valve, allowing operators to quickly change to their preferred control pattern. A selector valve in the cab lets operators choose between one-way and two way hydraulic control flows for operating attachments. Residual auxiliary hydraulic line pressure can be easily removed via the new pilot accumulator.

A three-cylinder Kubota D722-E4B engine gives the compact excavator almost 22 percent more horsepower than its predecessor, the TB108. The engine oil filter and dipstick are accessed through a lockable access panel located underneath the operator’s seat.

On the side of the machine, a lockable swing-out panel gives access to the fuel fill and sight gauge, fuel filter with shut-off and the dual-element air cleaner. At the rear, the engine hood opens overhead, providing easy access to the hydraulic tank and sight gauge, battery, coolant reserve tank, pattern change valve and one-way flow selector valve.
