Cat debuts compact engine with 26 percent torque rise

To extend the power range and answer customer demand, Caterpillar has added turbocharging to its compact 3024CT engine. The four-cylinder, 60-horsepower engine is geared for small construction equipment. A torque rise of 26 percent maximizes machine responsiveness, enabling the engine to meet sudden power demands without stalling.
