Ram’s new Harvest Edition trucks designed for farmers

Calling agriculture “part of the foundation” of which the truck maker’s success is built on, Ram has introduced a special edition pickup designed for farmers and their families.

The new Harvest Edition will be available on Ram’s 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups in all four-door Quad, Crew and Mega cab configurations, all box lengths and all powertrains, including the HEMI V8 and the 6.7-liter Cummins.

Volvo calls real-time Compact Assist ‘a game-changer’ for soil compaction

Volvo Construction Equipment is expanding its Co-Pilot intelligent compaction interface with a new real-time guidance feature for soil compaction. Volvo product manager Bill Laing says the new Compact Assist for Soil is a “game-changer for soil compaction.”

“It takes all the guesswork out of soil compaction, allowing operators at any experience level to save time and money, and get the job done right the first time,” Laing says.

Volvo unveils L20H, L25H loaders with more power, larger cab

Volvo has introduced updated versions of its L20 and L25 compact wheel loaders, pairing a new Tier 4 Final engine with fully automatic hydrostatic drive.

The new L20H and L25H made their debut at the 2017 ICUEE show in Louisville earlier this month. The machines are powered by a 64-horsepower Volvo D2.6M water-cooled engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst that eliminates the need for regeneration or additives.

American Augers intros M-300D cleaner, DD-240T HDD

American Augers’ new M-300D HDD fluid cleaning system got its first running at ICUEE, keeping a steady flow of material churning at the company’s booth.

The company also used the demo show in Louisville, Kentucky, to launch its DD-240T Midi Rig horizontal directional drill.

Atlas Copco launches 30 new high-flow dewatering pumps

Atlas Copco is capitalizing on its 2016 acquisition of Varisco by adding more than 30 new high-capacity pumps.

The new products include three models of centrifugal dry prime pumps that can handle flows up to 6,164 gallons per minute.

The pumps come in wet and dry prime models for construction, drainage and emergency conditions. There are also specialized models for well-point applications and pumping abrasive liquids and bentonite mud.

Test Drive: Volvo’s redesigned VNL long-haul tractor

For more than 20 years, Volvo’s VNL has been the torchbearer of the company’s U.S. truck catalog. Not only is it the historical leader in order volume, the long-haul tractor has served as a rolling proving ground for innovations that ultimately have found their way to many of Volvo’s trucks.

The VNL gets a new look for the coming model year, borrowing several design cues from its VNR regional-haul sister, which was introduced earlier this year as the successor to the VNM, and Volvo’s SuperTruck project.
