Cat M316D
November 14, 2007

The Cat M316D wheel excavator uses a 158-net-horsepower, Cat C6.6 ACERT engine for scraping rock and finishing work. The front parts automatically follow the hammer while penetrating the rock. An electronically controlled, hydraulic motor drives a variable speed on-demand fan for engine coolant and hydraulic oil. A dedicated variable displacement piston pump and fixed displacement piston motor power the swing drive. The machine can be optionally equipped with a dedicated hydraulic circuit to operate hydraulic quick couplers.
