Bobcat has updated seven of its 700- and 800-frame-size loaders with new engines, bringing the machines to Tier 4 Final compliance and boosting the power of the T870 compact track loader.
In addition to the T870, the T750 and T770 CTLs, the A770 all-wheel steer loader, the S750, S770 and S850 skid-steer loaders are now powered by 3.4-liter Bobcat turbo diesel engines. With its power boost, the T870 is now rated at 100 horsepower, making it the first Bobcat CTL to reach that plateau.

Bobcat says the new engines are quieter and deliver high torque across a wide span of engine rpms. As previous Tier 4 Final-compliant engines from Bobcat, the engines do not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and therefore do not require regens.
To meet emissions standards the engine instead uses a high-pressure common-rail fuel injection system, cooled exhaust gas circulation, a diesel oxidization catalyst and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system with diesel exhaust fluid. (DEF).
All new 700 and 800 machines are vertical lift path loaders. Those rated at 75 horsepower and above feature an updated display panel with a DEF level indicator along with an SCR error icon which illuminates when the DEF tank is at 25 percent capacity.
Bobcat has also added new air inlets in the loader tailgate and the cooling system which help keep the engine compartment cooler. More air outlets above the tailgate allow warm air to exit the engine compartment.
