Doosan DX140LCR-3 excavator features reduced tail swing

DX140LCR-3-ImageDoosan’s DX140LCR-3 reduced tail swing excavator is ideal for a variety of road building, development and commercial construction projects, according to a report from our sister site, Equipment World.

A Tier 4 Interim four-cylinder Cummins QSB 4.5 engine powers the 16-ton machine, delivering 109 horsepower at 2,200 rpm and a maximum speed of 2.9 mph.

The excavator has a radius of 5 feet with a tail swing overhang of 9 inches over the side of the machine. The machine offers a maximum reach of 28 feet 5 inches, a maximum dig depth of 19 feet 8 inches, a 24,471-pound bucket digging force and a 13,228-pound arm digging force.

The DX140LCR-3 features a 12-foot 4-inch track length to ensure stability during operation. An optional 102-inch-wide dozer blade is also available.

The machine’s electronic power optimizing system includes four work modes, auto-idle and machine diagnostics. A straight travel pedal is available for use in trenching applications.

The ROPS cab features an air suspension heated seat with a height lever and tilting function, a thickened dampening plate on the cabin mounting mechanism and an internal coil spring to reduces cabin vibration by 20 percent over previous models.
