For having such a dirty reputation, the construction industry is a lot greener than many thought–accounting for less than one-percent of greenhouse gasses. That’s the word from the Associated General Contractors of America in their analysis of EPA data. Other highlights in the report include the fact that the construction industry recycles 97.5 percent of its structural steel, 65 percent of reinforcing steel and 80 percent of asphalt.
