Photo Credit: Raymond Yu/FlickrThe Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), High Performance Transportation Enterprise (HPTE) and the Colorado Bridge Enterprise (CBE) have received statements of qualification (SOQ) from five entities for work on the possible public-private partnership (P3) for the Interstate 70 East Project in the Denver area.
SOQs summarize a group’s experience both in the industry and similar projects. The P3 would be based on the Design Build Finance Operate Maintain (DMFOM) for completing and financing the project, CDOT says.
“We are thrilled at the caliber of the teams that responded to our request for qualifications,” said Project Director Tony DeVito. “I-70 East is one of the state’s most critical highway segments and we are seeking the best of the best to partner with CDOT to address the long-standing safety and congestion problems along this corridor. From the response we saw, we are on the right track to reaching that goal.”
The department is reviewing the submissions and will post executive summaries on its website. CDOT will then select firms to submit request for proposals (RFP), which will be sent this fall. A private partner will be selected by the end of 2016.
“HPTE and CDOT are committed to ensuring that the public is aware of each step we take toward a possible public-private partnership for I-70 East. We invite the public and stakeholders to join us this summer as we discuss next steps in this process,” said Michael Cheroutes, Director of CDOT’s High Performance Transportation Enterprise.
The five groups submitting SOQs include:
