Caterpillar VP Hans Haefeli to retire, PRS VP Savage tapped as replacement

Hans Haefeli, Caterpillar’s vice president of Advanced Components & Systems Division (ACSD) has decided that he will retire April 30, 2014.

Jean Savage has been tapped to replace Faefeli. Savage is currently senior vice president and Chief Operating Officer of the Locomotive and Railcar Services business unit for  Progress Rail Services (PRS), a Caterpillar subsidiary.

Savage will assume her new position on April 1, 2014.

Haefeli, has been with Caterpillar for 15 years and held several positions at another Cat subsidiary, Perkins Engine Company Limited in England. He was promoted to VP of Cat’s Industrial Power Systems division in 2004 before being appointed to his current position.

“Hans has also provided outstanding executive leadership these past few years during the development and deployment of the company’s connected worksite and telematics strategy,” said Steve Wunning, Caterpillar group president of Resource Industries, in a prepared statement. â€śHe has always been exceptional in leading his team and working across the enterprise with his collaborative and engaging leadership.”

Savage joined PRS in 2002 as VP for Quality and Continuous Improvement. She has 20 years of business and military leadership experience and also served as VP of the PRS Freight Car Repair, Parts and Quality Divisions before her most recent position.

Savage has a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Dayton.
