Cardinal and DITEQ announce strategic alliance that yields a new line of high performance diamond blades

Conshohocken, PA January 14, 2008 – Cardinal Saws & Blades will introduce at World of Concrete 2008, a new line of Professional grade diamond blades for the prevention of random cracking in green concrete. The Cardinal CONTENDER Diamond Blade Series are manufactured using DITEQ™s proprietary production process that yields a blade with up to twice the life of Cardinal™s UPPERCUT diamond blades.

DITEQ™s ARIX technology precisely controls the arrangement of every diamond on each layer of the blade™s segments. These perfectly aligned diamond arrays control wear, which extends blade life while increasing cutting speed; two capabilities that have been considered mutually exclusive attributes in the world of diamond blades. And, when used for the ultra-early dry cutting of green concrete, help prevent raveling of the cut.

Independent field tests of Cardinal™s Contender Diamond Blades have demonstrated a cost reduction of 75% or more over our competitor™s blades.

Cardinal announced a selling price for the Contender blades that averages 10% to 15% less than the cost of our competitor™s diamond blades. Cardinal™s Contender blades feature the same patented Gem Diamond Arbor as Cardinal™s Uppercut Diamond Blades, which allow them to fit our competitor™s saws without the need for an adaptor.

Ed Zuzelo, Cardinal™s founder and president explained the impetus behind the alliance.  Employing the DITEQ Diamond Arrangement Technology allows Cardinal to continue our long-standing tradition of offering customers a blade that delivers outstanding performance at an extremely competitive price.Âť

Dan Steiner, DITEQ president, added, Working together with Cardinal is very exciting for DITEQ.  We are happy to share our ARIX technology products with a company whose history is long standing in this industry.  Ed Zuzelo is an industry icon whose many innovations, ideas and inventions helped to make this industry what it is today. We are confident the ARIX technology used in the Cardinal Contender line of diamond blades will help them to gain significant market shareÂť.
