Three Indiana road workers were injured last week when the truck they were riding in fell into a large hole.

According to the Indiana State Police, a construction worker with Milestone Paving Company was driving down Interstate 70 in Wayne County with two coworkers when the truck fell into a three-foot deep hole that was about 12-feet wide

The crash happened as the truck drove inside the orange construction zone barrels through a work zone.

The pickup had a flatbed trailer attached filled with construction supplied when it fell into the hole. The workers were hospitalized for their injuries, which were considered non-life threatening.

The large hole in the road had been dug up by other workers at the job site earlier in the day but it had been left unmarked.
