TRB plans webinar covering pothole patching

potholeThe Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies will hold a webinar April 1 covering current practices for patching potholes, just in time for when many departments of transportation are beginning spring maintenance.

The webinar, set for 1-2:30 p.m. ET, will cover:

  • National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Synthesis 463: Pavement Patching Practices. This covers current practices for patching small-scale defects in concrete and asphalt.
  • Preliminary finds from the Pothole Performance Study in Cold Climate for Development of Best Practices Manual and Decision Tree
  • Full- and partial-depth repairs on concrete pavements

Presenters include Rebecca McDaniel, Purdue University, Eshan Dave, University of Minnesota, Duluth, Kurt Smith, Applied Pavement Technology Inc.

Professional engineers will receive a certificate for 1.5 professional development hours for attending. The webinar will consist of 60 minutes for presentations and 30 minutes for a question and answer session.
