Atlas Copco dealers were presented with two of the company’s large asphalt articulated tandem rollers during a launch event in Phoenix March 4.
The two machines, the Dynapac CC4200 and CC6200, offer Tier 4 Interim engines. Optional on the equipment is Atlas Copco’s ECO Mode system that provides just enough power to operate as conditions require. The system manages rpm needs to cut down on fuel used by up to 20 percent.
The CC models can be serviced easier, with rear-positioned engines that are highly accessible via large hoods that provide plenty of clearance to inspect and replace parts. The rear placement of the engine also reduces the amount of heat and noise for the operator. The LCD monitor also now displays details on servicing needs, which cuts down on inspection time.
One key design feature that is becoming a hallmark of the Dynapac line is improved visibility. The CC rollers have a sliding and rotating operator seat that gives a better view on either side as well as during both rear and forward operation.
A big initiative for Atlas Copco also is improved parts inventory control and accessibility. To accomplish this, the company has built the CC4200 and CC6200 with parts similar to parts used in other pieces of its equipment.
Other features of the CC4200 and CC6200:
- Steering hitch and cylinder that do not require lubrication
- Corrosion-free water tank and sprinkler tubes
- Filters that can be accessed more easily
- Hydraulic hoses that can replace in individual segments, rather than entire lengths of hose
