Atlas Copco acquires MEYCO Equipment

Atlas Copco Logo Blue1Atlas Copco recently announced that is buying Swedish company MEYCO Equipment from BASF Construction Chemicals Europe AG.

Atlas Copco says MEYCO will be part of its Underground Rock Excavation division and will broaden the company’s offering of mobile equipment for applying sprayed concrete in underground operations.

MEYCO has about 40 employees and makes carrier-mounted concrete spraying equipment, concrete spraying arms, pump and dosing units. Its current sales are mainly in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

“Shotcreting is a growth segment thanks to high safety requirements in tunneling and we look forward to introducing these products through our global sales channels, both to mining and underground civil construction customers,” said Bob Fassl, Business Area President for Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique.

The acquisition is set to be approved by the end of the first quarter of this year.
