ARTBA, ATA to host event honoring 60th anniversary of Interstate Highway System

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and the American Trucking Associations (ATA) have a planned a “lunch and policy discussion” June 29 to recognize the 60th anniversary of President Eisenhower’s signing of the law enacting the Interstate Highway System.

Brian Pallasch, managing director, government relations and infrastructure initiatives for the American Society of Civil Engineers, will moderate the event scheduled for 12 to 3 pm at the National Press Club.

Speakers at the event include: Senate Environment & Public Works Committee Chairman Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma); Fox News contributor and former official in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations Jim Pinkerton; Pat Thomas, ATA chairman and senior vice president, state government affairs, UPS; Brad Dean, president and CEO, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Paniati, executive director and CEO, Institute of Transportation Engineers; and John Lex, driver, Walmart Transportation, and ATA “America’s Road” Team captain.
