Arctic Snow & Ice Control Products Offers Sectional Sno-Plow for Heavy Equipment

Ssp Hd Plow1BRADLEY, Ill — Sectional Sno-Plowä, a product division of Arctic Snow and Ice Control Products, offers its line of HD Plows. Created by an experienced snow and ice management contractor, the snow pushers include a host of innovate features designed for maximum productivity, and are compatible with a variety of large pieces of equipment including wheel loaders, backhoes, skid-steers, tractors and telehandlers. Sectional Sno-Plow’s HD line is ideal for established snow and ice management professionals, as well as fleet owners looking for a productive solution for idle equipment during the winter months, including facility managers, and construction and landscape contractors.

The HD plows include several unique, patented features designed to increase pushing efficiency, increase fuel savings, greatly reduce salt usage and eliminate follow-up plowing. Constructed of durable steel, the patented moldboard design features individual 32-inch-wide sections, equipped with independent, spring-loaded trip edges. Each section of moldboard responds to changes in the pavement and moves up and down on its own, allowing the plow to contour to uneven surfaces and reduce the amount of snow left behind to re-plow.

Every individual moldboard section features an AR-400 hardened-steel trip cutting edge. Unlike competitor’s plows that offer rubber or polyurethane cutting edges, the steel edge is designed to scrape snow and ice down to the pavement and offer cleaner removal with a single pass. If a cutting edge is damaged, just that section needs to be replaced, resulting in significant cost savings. With typical one-piece moldboard plows, several feet of expensive cutting edge, often equal to the entire length of the plow, must be replaced upon damage.

Designed for faster, easier and more efficient operation, Sectional Sno-Plow’s patented Slip-Hitchä system is included on every HD plow. The system automatically and continuously adjusts the plow to the pavement grade, resulting in fewer missed areas and less follow-up plowing. And because it adjusts to the pavement mechanically, less operator time and effort is required to position the plow, making it ideal for inexperienced operators. It also allows the plow to operate independently of the equipment, ensuring full traction and eliminating drag, as well as loss of horsepower.

To eliminate damage to the plow, equipment and operator, the HD plows feature bolt-on mechanical side panels. Unlike rigid fixed panels that can be severely damaged if an obstacle such as a curb or median is encountered, mechanical side panels lift up and over obstructions, and are able to clear objects up to 9-inches in height. This not only protects the plow from damage as a result of impact, but the equipment and operator as well. For added longevity, the panels feature durable, long-lasting AR-400 hardened-steel shoes. When combined with the Slip-Hitch system, the shoes ride flat along the pavement, allowing even wear and prolonged life.

Each section of moldboard is individually mounted to the plow’s mainframe with engineered polyurethane blocks. Rather than replace the entire plow in the unlikely event of damage, one section can be easily unbolted, removed and replaced for both time and cost savings.

Designed for equipment weighing more than 18,000 pounds, the HD plows are available in six sizes to accommodate a variety of equipment. The 12-foot, HD12 model is the smallest, with a weight of 3,300 pounds and pushing capacity of 19-yards. Weighing in at 3,700 pounds, the HD14 is a 14-foot model that offers a capacity of 23-yards. The 16-foot, HD16 model weighs 4,100 pounds and has a 28-yard capacity. Offering a capacity of 35-yards, the HD19 is a 19-foot model weighing 4,500 pounds. At 22-feet, the HD22 weighs 4,900 pounds and offers a capacity of 39-yards. Finally, the HD26 is the largest model available. The 26-foot plow weighs in at 5,500 pounds and offers a 46-yard capacity. The universal bucket mounting system allows the plow to be connected in minutes. It ensures the HD plows will fit most any make and model of wheel loader. Optional OEM coupler connections are also available. The HD plows are backed by a 2-year limited warranty.
