American Concrete Institute seeks papers for spring 2010 convention

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is seeking papers for sessions that will take place during the organization’s Spring 2010 Convention in Chicago, Ill., March 21-25, 2010.

Information about specific areas for which papers are being sought follows:

Foundation Design for Renewable Energy Structures
ACI Committee 351, Foundations for Equipment and Machinery, seeks papers for its technical session “Equipment Foundation Design for Renewable Energy Structures.”

Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, the design, analysis, and construction of equipment foundations unique to wind power, ocean energy, and solar energy structures.

Abstracts of 200-300 words, along with paper title, author name(s), and contact information should be sent to Mukti Das at [email protected] no later than July 15, 2009.

Frontiers in the Use of Polymers in Concrete
ACI Committee 548, Polymers and Adhesives for Concrete, seeks presentations for its technical session “Frontiers in the Use of Polymers in Concrete.”

Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, new developments on the use of polymers in concrete through presentation of experimental, analytical, and field work.

Abstracts of up to 250 words, along with presentation title, author name(s), and contact information should be sent to Mahmoud Reda Taha at [email protected] no later than Aug. 30, 2009.

Adhesives and Adhesive Anchors
ACI Committees 355, Anchorage to Concrete, and 548, Polymers and Adhesives for Concrete, seek papers for its technical session, “Adhesives and Adhesive Anchors for Use in Concrete.”

Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, chemical properties and performance of adhesives used for anchoring and attaching to concrete and performance of adhesive anchors in concrete.

Abstracts of 300 words, along with paper title, author name(s), and contact information should be sent to Richard Wollmershauser at [email protected] no later than Nov. 1, 2009.
