ACPA holding National Concrete Pavement Design Workshop

The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has announce its first-ever National Concrete Pavement Design Workshop. (To download a PDF of a flyer about this workshop, click here.)

This workshop, which will be held in Rosemont, Ill., in mid-October, will cover many of the most commonly used pavement design and analysis software programs, including some specifically used for concrete pavement design.

The comprehensive, hands-on training event, will not only cover a full array of pavement design software, but will also feature some of the latest pavement analysis software and methods.

The course will cover WinPas software; DARWin-ME software; StreetPave software; airport pavement-design programs (including AirPave, FAArfield, and Tri-Service PCASE software); TCP (Thin-Concrete Pavement) design method; roller-compacted concrete design method; and ACPA PerviousPave software training. Also included will be pavement analysis tools (including Ever-FE, Westergaard app, HIPERPAV III, etc.).

As an added bonus, we are offering a half-day Concrete Pavement Jointing Workshop, which also will intersection design and hands-on examples.

Scope of Training
The pavement design workshop will focus on hands-on training with key experts representing the underlying pavement design and analysis software technologies. The program will be comprehensive, but will be led at a comfortable pace to allow plenty of time for overview presentations, discussions/Q&A, and hands-on training.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for anyone who wants to learn about all of the available pavement design methods in one course, including when and how to choose various design methods. The course is designed for those who have a basic- to intermediate-level knowledge of pavement design. Consulting engineers, contractors, cement industry representatives, ready mixed concrete professionals, and government agency engineers may all benefit from this course.

Professional Development Hours

The American Concrete Pavement Association will award up to 21 professional development hours (PDH’s) to participants who complete the National Concrete Pavement Design workshop. ACPA will award an additional 4 PDH’s for participants who complete the optional Concrete Pavement Joint Design and Layout Workshop. Participants interested in the award of PDH’s should check with local licensing organizations for specific requirements prior to registering and participating in these workshops.

Rates shown include the ACPA software bundle, as well as the optional Concrete Pavement Joint Design and Layout Workshop. Government rates apply only to federal, state, municipal, county, or equivalent government agencies, as well as active-duty and civilian employees of the Department of Defense, including all branches of the military.

Computer Hardware Requirements

ACPA strongly recommends that all registrants/participants bring a laptop computer. For optimal results, your laptop computer should be IBM-compatible and should use a Windows operating system (Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2 or later).

Prior to installing the ACPA software bundle, you should ensure your computer has at least 512 megabyte (MB) RAM, a 500 megahertz (MHz) processor or h­­igher, and a display resolution 1024×768 or higher.
