Ram’s 1500 has earned the top spot in Consumer Reports’ latest full-size pickup truck rankings. The publication tested a 2013 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, the most popular engine option.

CR Ram rankConsumer Reports liked the Ram’s balance of comfort and work capability, noting the Ram’s “whisper-quiet interior” and “seamless power.”

In fuel testing, Consumer Reports found that the Hemi-powered 1500 got an average 15 mpg which is on par for the class.

The 1500 earned a 78-point overall score (out of 100). That puts it over both the Toyota Tundra and Ford F-150. Consumer Reports is currently testing the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado.

“The combination delivers seamless power and still returns a class-average 15 mpg overall in CR’s own fuel economy tests,” the publication wrote. Be sure to watch CR’s video review of the Ram 1500 below.
