When Donnie and Maria Teachman of Jaguar Concrete Pumping stopped by Equipment World magazine’s booth at the January 2004 World of Concrete tradeshow, they had no idea good fortune was smiling on them.

When the magazine’s sweepstakes representative called the Teachmans to tell them they’d won the “Contractor’s Dream Package,” they weren’t sure it was for real. A look at their prizes reveals why they were astonished: it includes a new Ford F-550 Super Duty Chassis Cab; a 25GT Thomas mini skid-steer loader; a Jerr-Dan 17 ½-foot, 5-ton capacity carrier; a Thompson trash pump; a six-speed ZF manual transmission built especially for Ford heavy duty trucks; and a Trail King 6,000-pound capacity trailer. The package is worth over $75,000.

Maria Teachman contacted Equipment World’s associate publisher, Gregg Terry, to verify their good fortune. Terry confirmed they were the winners and told her Equipment World would present the prizes Nov. 8 at the Mike Davidson Ford dealership in Jacksonville, Fla.

“We’re a young company,” Maria said. “Although Donnie has been in the business for 24 years, we just formed Jaguar Concrete Pumping in June of 2000. Business has been great and oddly enough we were in the market for a new truck when the news of winning the dream package contest came along. I have to keep pinching myself so I know I’m not dreaming, but then it is a dream package.”

Equipment World magazine is the leading business-to-business publication reporting equipment and business practices in order to help America’s contractors run their companies more efficiently.

For the past three years, lucky contractors like the Teachmans have won top-of-the-line equipment to add to their fleets, and Equipment World has accomplished its goal of serving its readers and advertisers. “It’s great to have a team that puts a program together like this, where everyone walks away smiling,” said Dan Tidwell, publisher of Equipment World.
