JCB will now supply 1,015 Compact Power Equipment Rental stores, located in Home Depots, with its 8029 and 8018 compact excavators.

The “enhanced alliance,” as JCB terms it, came about after a test program of the excavators in 2014, in which the Home Depot division evaluated the machines, along with aftermarket sales and service support. As a result of the agreement, the excavators will be featured at select Home Depot Pro Days events.

JCB introduced the excavators at ConExpo last March. The 8029 CTS, for conventional tail swing, has a 25 horsepower engine and a tail swing just  18.5 inches longer than the 8025 zero tail swing machine. With a 10-foot dig depth, the machine has a load over height of 10 feet 6 inches. The 8018 is a 19-horsepower machine.

JCB says it is placing “a significant focus on the rental industry,” according to Keith Hoskins, director, JCB Compact Products.
